Pre-Season Boys Indoor Preview: Boys 4x400

Chicago Kenwood was the class of the field at last year's Proviso West Invitational

TOP PERFORMING TEAMS IN 2022

This event is tough to predict and figure out unless you actually know who runs on the relay. A Lot of times a team would add their 800m or 1600m runners or move a sprinter up to quicken times at some relay centric meets. Some long hurdlers will be mixed in as well. One never really knows who has what until indoor championship season.

Chicago (Kenwood) entered last season's outdoor state meet as an afterthought in this event, the ended the weekend with a ninth place medal. All members of that quartet are back, led by senior Sidney Morris, Jahad Henderson, Landan Gillespie. The battle for their fourth spot appears to be between Malachi Moreno and Kendall Norris. The Broncos' bread and butter event will be this one.

Hinsdale Central returns three pieces from their outdoor state runner-up team. The main distance crew drops down a distance to drop the hammer on opponents in this even. Typically on the anchor is Oregon signee Dan Watcke, no lead will be safe. His partners in crime are Grant Miller and Aden Bandukwala, the reigning 3A state cross country champion.

Prospect will build their unit around their star senior Dominik Balenda's talents. Aidan Orlando and Mark Hanson will be first in line to assist in getting the Knights some top performances.

Honorable Mention: Colfax (Ridgeview), East St. Louis Sr., Kankakee, Champaign Centennial, Elmhurst (York), Belleville West, Naperville (Neuqua Valley), Chicago Lane, Mt. Zion
