The Wisconsin Badgers host the second annual Windy City Invite at the Dr. Worrill Track and Field Center at Gately Park on Feb. 10/11th.  Competing in this year's meet are some of the most recognizable names in collegiate athletics.  Competing schools are coming from all over the country to display their skills and talents in the South Side of Chicago for the second straight year. 

Last year schools competing -  Oregon, Arizona, Michigan, South Florida, Howard, and many other schools came to then Gately Indoor Track and made history setting 23 facility records including the 3rd and 4th fastest indoor mile ever run coming close to setting an American Record in the Magnificent Mile Event by Nike runner Cooper Teare and Nike runner Cole Hocker running 3:50.17 and 3:50.35 respectively.  The current American Record Holder was present for the event, Nike's own Bernard Legat who set the American Record on Feb 11, 2005, 3:49.89. 

This year plans to be one of the premier track meets in the world, with schools from across the country that includes, Oklahoma Sooners, Notre Dame Fighting Irish, Michigan State Spartans, Purdue Boilermakers, Stanford Cardinals, Howard Bison, Indiana Hoosiers, Minnesota Gophers, South Florida Bulls, Tulsa Golden Hurricane, and Chicago's own Loyola Ramblers hosted by The University of Wisconsin Badgers. 

This year's feature events include the men and women 60m Dash where Olympic Gold Medalist and 5 x Olympic Medalist Justin Gatlin will be presenting the winners of the fastest man/women of the Windy City Invite.   The 800m race could be the fastest in NCAA History as the women in this race have a chance of breaking the NCAA 800m record.  The men's and women's 5,000m race will shape up to be one of the fastest in the world with athletes competing for various schools and professional athletes in this event.  Don't leave early as the final event on the track with be the Magnificent Mile! 

This meet will be a two-day event with some of the best coaches and athletes in the world competing in Chicago.  The men's and women's shot put and long jump will be must-see competitions and performances with the final race of 4 x 400m relays as schools will be battling for NCAA qualifying times and results.
