Grace Schager has been nothing short of amazing thus far during the 2022 cross country season
The official signing date for senior high school student-athletes isn't until November 9, but things are beginning to heat up with many commitments all over the docket.
One such talented recruit was zeroed in on by the University of Notre Dame.
Carol Stream (Glenbard North) superstar senior Grace Schager visited several schools, but the Irish were able to hit the lottery with her.
Schager, who is currently ranked No. 6 in the MileSplit 50 girls individual rankings, has taken the running scene by storm. After finishing fourth in last fall's 3A title tilt, Schager made big waves on the track with a state crown in the 3,200m (10:17.12). It appears that the fans are witnessing the beginning of greatness after Schager dropped a bomb at the Harvey Braus Lake Park Invitational in September.
She busted the field for a meet record and fastest ever September performance in a blistering 16:00.2. Schager has not stopped running very fast, but slow enough for Notre Dame to carrel her for the next four years!
