Varsity girls highlight reel

The 2021 Harvey Braus Lake Park Invitational was greeted with caution as we all were "coming" out of the Covid-19 period. Most of the cross country experts had to use multiple sets of analytics to forecast the teams' ability. As it turned out there were notable surprises like the York girls dominating team performance. The Dukes steamrolled the competition which later became a catalyst for their state championship run. Individually, it was a surprising Grace Schager who turned back her foes with a strong final mile to win in 16:57. The then junior from Glenbard North was the first girl to break 17:00 at that point in the season. Schager would go on to place fourth in the 3A State Championship.

There wasn't an invite contested in 2020 due to Covid, but in 2019 St. Charles was the team champions. The Saints would go on to "repeat" over Wheaton South as they piled all five runners inside of the top 25. Micah Wilson would lead his beloved Saints to victory in 14:51. That of course proved true for him as he later won the IHSA 3A title.
