Scout Storms enroute to a sparkling finish at the Raleigh Relays

While most of the state's competitors were training away from competition or at last weekend's Illinois Top Times, Scout Storms was in Raleigh, North Carolina, putting up an impressive early-season mark. The freshman from Barrington trekked to some warmer climes and competed in the Raleigh Relays hosted by North Carolina State University. The race of choice was the 3200m in which Storms placed second in a personal best 10:27.31. The winner was one of the nation's top distance runners and All-American Ciara O'Shea of Madison Central HS, Kentucky in 10:25.01.
Storms took home 43.37% (680 votes) to defeat Caroline Schoen of Homewood-Flossmoor in one of the closest-ever polls. Schoen garnered 38.78% (608 votes). Congrats to Storm!!
