Distance star Drew Rogers selects Mizzou as college choice

Rogers put the finishing touches on his junior xc season at the 2020 Shazam Championship

Rising senior Drew Rogers of Herscher HS recently announced ahead of the recruiting rush his future college choice. After weaving through a mountain of top-rated offers, Rogers selected the University of Missouri. In recent years, the Tigers have had success in obtaining some of the best talents that Illinois has to offer. "I chose Mizzou because I love the coaches, team culture, and I want to be part of a team that is capable of getting to the top by my senior year," said an elated Rogers. "I trust the coaches a lot and bonded very well with the team on my unofficial visit. Also, you can't forget about how nice the campus is and it felt like a good fit for me."

Highly regarded as the best distance runner in the state and one of the most talented individuals in the country, Rogers has a very impressive resume. He has won two state harrier titles, two titles on the track (3200, 1600). His best times rivals many of his competitors: 3200 (8:57.78), Mile (4:08.02), 3miles (14:30);
