MEET INFO PAGE

The indoor track and field season started with anxiety as we all did not know what to expect. However, with proper planning and error on the side of caution, things have gone well. Now, we are at the tail end of the indoor session and we have something big in store for you. One is providing pacers for the elite distance fields. There will be competitors from all over the midwest and east coast coming to Chicago.

The plan is to end the season with the fastest possible times imaginable:

Boys-

Do you want to be a part of a sub-9:00 attempt in the full two-mile (3200m split en route) or a sub 4:10 mile (1600m split en route)? How about a sub- 1:55 800m? This is the meet for you!

Already we have the state 3200m leader (9:02.08) Drew Rogers of Herscher signed up. There are several sub 9:10 performers ready to go like Nick Falk (New Trier) and Peter Walsdorf (Woodstock Marian).

State long jump leader Daniel Mboyo of Urbana will be on hand to go after the elusive 23-foot mark. He just missed it last time out. Maybe we will even see a Niko Schultz sighting. The Plainfield South middle-distance star dropped a national leading 600m in 1:19.60 a few weeks ago.

Girls-

It may be a while before we see the likes of a Roisin Willis again. The junior superstar from Stevens Point, Wisconsin is one of the most talented middle-distance runners in US prep history. Willis is very close to hitting the Olympic Trials qualifying standard of 2:02.50. In addition, she will take aim at the American high school record of 2:01.78.

The mile and two-mile fields will be loaded! We have seen a bevy of sub 5:00 performances and a ton of 11:00 offerings. It can happen again!

National talent Riley Ammenhauser of Neuqua Valley IL makes her return in the triple jump or long jump (maybe both) and hopefully, some of her friends will join in.

As time goes on, many more top names will drop in and we will keep you updated!
