Before Kahmari Montgomery and Scotty Miller would go on to become superstars at the national and/or NFL levels, they matched up at the 2015 Proviso West Annual Invitational
-------
The 2015 boys' indoor track and field season was billed as one of the best in a long time. So it wasn't a mystery when meet directors summoned some of the top talent in the state. Of course, the year in question would be like no other.
For the first time in meet history, at-large entries were allowed into the mix of the team-oriented competition. Leading the charge was then emerging superstar Kahmari Montgomery of Plainfield Central. Barrington speed ace Scotty Miller was ready to go at it in the 55m dash. The winner of the bill would claim early season bragging rights.

As it would turn out, Montgomery appeared to be even coming out the blocks and later a step behind. Miller was rolling down the straight and thirsting for the title. Lost in the commotion was Johnathan Stokes of Chicago North Lawndale who was in the mix with the titans. However, this is an event where there is no time to think as it's over in a flash.
IT WAS A PHOTO FINISH AFFAIR!
Montgomery wins 6.47-6.48.
