CHICAGO, IL- Tatum David, a Class of 2023 distance athlete and rising sophomore, has announced that she is moving from Richland County High School, where she had a breakthrough freshman cross country and indoor track and field season, and will be transferring to IMG Academy in Bradenton, Florida.
David was the talk of the state entering her freshman campaign, already running a 4:56 1600m and dominating southern Illinois' middle school scene. She only continued as a freshman, having one of the best freshman season's we have ever seen as she ran 16:04.00 at the 2A IHSA Cross Country Meet which was a new All-Time IL Freshman Class Record. She continued her amazing season by garnering all-American honors at both Nike Cross Nationals and Foot Locker Nationals.
The major reason behind the move was stabilized schooling that IMG Academy offered which was huge to the David family as well as many other reasons. David's family has expressed they will keep their house in Illinois and the plan is to move back to Illinois next year once the pandemic clears up.
Everyone at the Milesplit IL team wishes Tatum good luck in this new chapter of Tatum's life and will be hoping to see her return to Illinois in the future
