Craig Collins is a well known and respected name on the track scene in the great City of Chicago. Now he will be known as Coordinator of Track and Field at the new Gately Indoor track facility on Chicago's South Side. Collins recently stepped down as Director of Track & Field & Cross Country at Chicago State University after nine seasons. During his tenure, the Cougars made their first Division 1 NCAA Outdoor National Championships appearance in 2019 (4x100 Relay). The program during his tenure gained nine Conference Champions, seventeen All-Conference athletes, and twenty-seven All-Conference Academic Honors. Twenty-six school records were broken under his direction.
Prior to Chicago State, the Chicago native and Indiana University/Julian HS grad coached fourteen years in the Chicago Public Schools (CPS) system with stints at North Lawndale College Prep, Phillips Academy, and Kenwood Academy. In the summer he coached the Chicago Striders, a non-profit track and field youth organization that exposes inner-city youth to the fundamentals of track and field. Craig holds a USATF Level II certification in Jumps.
ASM Global is a venue and event management company that will manage the Gately Park Indoor Track & Field Facility. ASM Global also manages Soldier Field, McFetridge Sports Center, and Morgan Park Sports Center in Chicago
