It Is A New Era In The Boys 3A Speed Game

200m Dash
2019 State Champion: Marcellus Moore (Plainfield North) 21.22 [+3.6]
Key Athletes: Jermarrion Stewart (Sr., Collinsville), Xavier Curtis (Sr., Carol Stream [Glenbard North]), Marshall Ellis (Jr., Homewood-Flossmoor), John Bickel (Sr., Tinley Park [Andrew]), Khullen Jefferson (Sr., Lansing [TF South]), Kendi Young (Sr., Calumet City [TF North]), Antonio Passarelli (Sr., Huntley), Tyler Colwell (So., Minooka), Tyrone Clarke (Sr., Oak Park-River Forest), Brandan Jenkins (Sr., Belleville West), AJ Henning (Sr., Frankfort [Lincoln-Way East), Virgil Steward (Sr., Aurora [Metea Valley]),
Breakdown: We mentioned earlier that "Baby Holyfield" has moved on, leaving a tremendous hole for the next group of emerging stars to step forward and grab the half-lap sprint crown for themselves.

This may sound repetitive, but Jermarrion Stewart appears to be the heir to the throne in this race also. He did his best to chase down a hobbled Marcellus Moore, this year he needs to get used to guys chasing him down. He has a nice cushion on the returning field, but we advise him to not become too comfortable as the chase pack has major talent.

Xavier Curtis hopes to continue his momentum from last season and this early season with hopes of a possible final win of a potential triple crown attempt.

Marshall Ellis has been groomed his first two seasons, he's an upperclassman now with a boatload of state meet experience. He is ready to take that next step up the podium.

John Bickel and Khullen Jefferson likely will cross paths a few times this season, both will push each other to faster times.
