The odds were against Chicago Public League powers Jones College Prep and Lane Tech to compete in the IHSA state series through a series of challenges and appeals. However, the gratitude of thank yous to the Dick Pond Athletics and NIKE is not long enough for stepping in to ensure that a bevy of student-athletes from around the CPL has an opportunity to compete one more time at the highest level.

Due to total HS registration and the cold temperatures expected later in the evening, we have decided to run two high school races. There will not be a separate open race for high schoolers. We are working on a tight time schedule and all races will begin at their stated time.
