3A Girls Field Events Preview: The Talent Pool Is Here!

That's right, this is distance running standout Madison Diercks showing off her multi-talents

High Jump-
2018 State Champion: Grace Daun (Sr., Wauconda) 5-8
Key Returners: Jenelle Rogers (Jr., Oswego), Jenna Pauly (Sr., McHenry), Alessia Olhava (Sr., Arlington Heights [Hersey]), Annika Bynum (So.), Gurnee [Warren]), Erin Oleksak (Sr., Palatine), Meghan Fletcher (Sr., Grayslake Central), Madison Diercks (Jr., Belvidere North), Anya Ball (So., Palatine), Madison Myrick (Sr., Homewood-Flossmoor)
Outlook: Defending state champion Grace Daun is back and ready to tackle bigger heights this season. After enduring some injuries early on her career, she was able to break through during the post-season, winning sectionals in 5-6.

A fleet of talented returners is just as willing and able to do battle. Jenelle Rogers got up to 5-7 at the state meet to place third. Pole Vaulter Jenna Pauly showed she has skills without the pole clearing 5-6 and earning all-state honors. Distance runner standout Madison Diercks has a rare combination prowess in both spectrums- competing in the finals in the 1600 and HJ. One other name to scope is Annika Bynum. She earned the final all-state medal last year and had cleared 5-5 at press time.
