2A Girls Field Events Preview: Serena Bolden Is Numero Uno

Look for Chandler Hayden to star on a new stage this upcoming season

Shot Put-
2018 State Champion: Evangelynn Harris (E. St. Louis Sr.) 46-1.25
Key returners: Jayden Ulrich (So., East Alton-Wood River), Mye'Joi Williams (Jr., Rantoul), Daija Range (Sr., Galesburg), Batya Butler (Jr., Dunlap), Erin Bishop (Sr.), Rockford (Boylan Catholic), Rebecca Beltran (Sr., Tinley Park), Jasmine Davis (Jr., Chicago (Noble/Bulls), Madelyn Daiber (Sr., Greenville), Kaila Poole (Sr., E. St. Louis Sr.)
Outlook: A solid slate of thrillers are back to improve and bolster this event. Chandler Hayden is a name that stood out in Class A over the past three seasons. Her school, Pittsfield, moved up in classification. She will, of course, be a key figure to watch throughout the season after tossing the steel ball 44-8.5, the third-best returning effort in the state. Jayden Ulrich, Mye'Joi Williams, and Daija Range are in the 40-foot club. It may take 46-feet to be the queen of the put this season.
