2. Bret Dannis (Sr., Peru St. Bede)- Despite a sore hamstring coming into the U of Kentucky High School Invite, Dannis did not proceed with trepidation. He won his 60HH prelim with ease and set himself up to challenge a great field. It was no contest as Dannis blasted the field in a big personal best 7.87 which now rates US #5. It is believed to be the fastest time ever clocked for an Illinois school boy.
