Morgan Gigandet (Sr., Troy HS; Troy OH)- The overall Ohio cross country leader and champion was actually on the fence when she finished 6th at NXN MW. It was her only loss of the season and kind of foreign to have a bad effort in the most important race of career. Fortunately, the orginal #5 qualifier Sarah Schmitt of Naperville North received an automatic bid by virtue of her team's win. Gigandet, who has run a very fast 17:06 this season, now should have a peace of mind as she preps for the race of her career in Portland.
