Key Illinois Kids Advance To Day Five At AAU Junior Olympic Games

Dajour Miles is a rising junior star from West Aurora HS/Aurora Flyers TC, who opened her national championship run with a solid prelim win in 24.55 (+0.5). Miles is one of the most decorated athletes in AAU track and field history winning many medals since she was a tot. 

  • Rachel Hunter (Yorkville/Aurora Flyers TC)- 15/16 Girls 400H hurdles grabbed the 5th place medal with a solid time of 1:04.76. She was able to earn All-American honors in the process.
  • Lauren Ferguson (Springfield HS/Illinois United)- 17/18 Women's 400H hurdles pace of 1:03.86 was just off of her prelim mark, but a 6th place medal and All-American honor was extraordinary nice.
  • Josh Bridges (Homewood-Flossmoor/Illinois Shockers TC)- just made it to the semi-finals of the 15-16 boy's 200m with a time of 22.17 (+2.0).
  • Jahnetta Jones (Romeoville/Aurora Flyers TC)- continues her great 2017 campaign by advancing to the Women's semi-final of the 200m in 24.83 (-0.3).
  • Mt. Zion High School incoming freshman Rhiannon Held broke the girls 14 year age group pole vault record with a winning height of 11.7.25. Rhiannon's older sister is the 2A state runner up vaulter Josie Held.
