A select group of America's best high school distance runners take time to pose for a photo
Sometimes getting an edge over the competition is all that is needed in order to vault to the top. Last year Danny Kilrea had a number of near misses. The rising senior for Lyons Township High School in Lagrange placed second in the 3A state cross country championship last fall. He would later win the tough Nike Cross Nationals Midwest Regional 5k in 14:51- the second fastest time ever run on the Indiana State University Lavern-Gibson course. Then there was the hard luck 9:00.81 clocking at Arcadia Invitational. With confidence and persistence backed by an edge could be the necessary ingredient for Kilrea this fall.
