Saucony Flo 50 Summer Blog: Soren Knudsen's Summer Top Off

Soren Knudsen will be a marked man all season long for his Minooka Indians squad. The rising senior enjoyed a solid junior year in cross country with a 11th place finish in the 3A state championship. He followed that position up by producing a monster 4:08.70 1600m at the Nike Festival of Miles at the end of the track season. Knudsen comes from a long line of great running in his family. His older brother Cam Knudsen runs for St. Francis University in Joliet. The patriarch Jim Knudsen was the 2A state champion for Lockport in 1981. Papa Knudsen is the family three mile record holder with a sizzling 14:22. Jim has admitted on several occasions that Soren will be the best of the lot by the time he graduates. Soren is now back around 360 degrees and eager for the fall harrier season to begin (Colin Boyle photo).
