#1 Monticello won the state title in an unexpected blowout over #2 Elmwood 91-143. Rockford Christian took third in a high tilt race featured seven schools under 200 points in a 25 team field
Oakwood junior Jon Davis destroyed the field in a near record 14:19. Davis was over 40 seconds ahead of second place and rival senior Eric Ponder of Tuscola. Davis also proved that he is one of the best runners in the entire state of Illinois.
The cool temperatures coupled with swirling winds reached up to 20+ mph but it didn't stop the runners from giving their all.
Plenty of fans showed up early to support the small town classification known as Class A
There were tons of smiles and energy from the boys race
