- The top ranked Lady Hilltoppers are a deep team that has rolled through its season virtually untouched. They are healthy and hungry to keep the ball rolling
- #2 Hinsdale Central has all of its pieces together with sophomore Alexa Haff in the fold; junior Anne Zaher and the talented freshman duo of Reilly Revord and Grace McCabe are ready
- #3 Naperville Central has not messed around with the competition since mid-October. They are red hot!

2A Boys preview: Yorkville is ready to repeat amid tough competition
- #1 Yorkville are indeed what their nickname indicates this weekend: the Foxes are the hunted ones for sure
- #2 Mahomet-Seymour has been hot since placing 2nd at the Richard Spring Invite in September
- #3 Lansing (Illiana Christian) was favored to win it last year. They are determined to steal the title away this time
- The Hoffert twins: seniors Jake and Luke are expected to go 1-2. Can junior Alex Keeble of Mahomet-Seymour break up the monopoly?
- #1 Yorkville is going for a four-peat. Can they do it this time? Junior Skyler Bollinger will lead the Lady Foxes
- #2 Belvidere North has emerged as a serious threat and sophomore Jenna Lutzow is ready to lead her team to the promised land
- Maryjeanne Gilbert, the fantastic junior from local Peoria (Notre Dame) is looking for a state title. She is the heavy favorite and may even threatened the class record of 16:22
- Elmwood-Brimwood and Monticello are expected to go head to head for the title
- Jon Davis (jr., Oakwood) is untouchable on the individual scene
- Sophomore Anna Sophia Keller is the big favorite in the individual race
