Races to Watch:

800

In this race we are going to be in for a treat. Two of Missouri's best distance runners will be squaring off for a State Championship. Jerald Allen (Gateway) comes in with faster season best with a 1:55.59, and he'll match up with Ryan Riddle (Webb City) who comes in with a season best of 1:55.70. Look for Riddle to push the pace on the first lap and buckle up for a frantic finish!

High Jump

With Dylan Pruiett (Carthage), Elliot Lorenz (Ladue), and Ethan Macoubrie (Grain Valley) all coming into State with season bests of 6-8 we should be in for a show. Its possible that this one could come down to scratches, so keep your scorecards handy!

Javelin

State Record Holder Briar Short (Webb City) will be matching up with the former record holder Isaiah Martin (Hillsboro) for the State title in Class 4. They both have thrown 194 feet, with Short at 194-3. You might want to make the trek over to the Javelin field for this one.

Athletes to Watch:

Ryan Riddle (Webb City)

Riddle has had a stellar senior year, and he will be looking to go out with three State Championships this weekend. He's ranked 1st in both 1600 and 3200, and is 2nd in the 800. In the 3200 he'll make an attempt at Austin Hindman's State Meet Record of 8:54.92. You'd best pay attention each time he steps on the track.

Joshua Sutton (MICDS)

Sutton comes into the weekend ranked first in both the 100 & 200. His slash is 10.60/21.59, and its hard to see anyone challenging him for the title. It'll be cool to see though if he's able to improve on his time as it looks to be good sprinting weather this weekend.
