Tony's Take: The 2015 Harrier Season Was One Of The Best Ever

Judy Pendergast sets all time mark-

In looking back at my pre-season 3A girls individual preview, I don't think I gave Pendergast enough respect. I think I got burned in the past with thinking this girl was going to do better than that girl and so forth. Now I look a little foolish. But then again I don't think anyone thought a 10:34/4:56 performer on the track was capable of being one of the top five runners in the country (yes, I said it) and a sub- 16:00 runner. She did it by blazing 15:53. A week later she took down two-time Footlocker champion Anna Rohrer's (Mishawaka) course record in 17:00. It was the fastest ever 5000 meters run on Indiana soil. It is yet to be revealed whether Pendergast can or will win a national title, but one thing for certain, she is about to close the door on becoming the best ever girls distance runner from the state of Illinois.
