Cross Country is a beautiful sport because it encompasses all of Mother Nature’s elements during the fall campaign. Many times races will feature sun, wind, rain, snow, and even mud on any given day. Saturday morning at Washington Park on the campus of The University of Chicago, the elements of wind, rain, and mud was fully illustrated.

The upcoming boys large classification may fit that bill. A new star was born last year when Hinsdale Central joined the elite class and won their first state championship going away. This year it should be another great cast of scenarios for us all to follow and enjoy.... strap it up and make the time!

2A Championship Recap: Yorkville Boys And Girls Do The Fox Trot Tony Jones Nov 10, 2013

It was a historical Saturday afternoon for the Yorkville Boys and Girls cross country programs at the legendary Detweiller Park.  For the first in the IHSA three classification annals, Yorkville became the first school to take home both gender titles. It is the first time since 2007 that any team had successfully pulled off the feat. Winnebago won the Class A titles with Joe and Janet Erb as co-head coaches.  Chris Muth did the same anchoring both Foxes programs.

Scouting Report: Jones Boys Todd Grasley Aug 27, 2012

Jones College Prep out of Chicago finished sixth at last year's 2A Illinois State Cross Country Champs. All seven of the boys are back for 2012 and are poised to make the podium. The group is led by a talented senior class including Jamison Dale, Luke O'Connor, and Kirby Lawson. Dale finished sixth last year and will be a contender for the individual title. O'Connor and Laweson held down the number two and three spots finsihing 36th and 40th.
