Indoor Track and Field Meet Information Sheet 2020:

Host University High Chicago / Midway Miles

The Henry Crown Field House

is located on the campus of the University of Chicago. The entrance is at the

intersection of 56th and University Avenue. The street address is 5550

University Avenue Chicago 60637. Free street parking is available for buses in

the neighborhood.

The track is a 200m poured

Beynon Hobart product surface - 6 lanes and 8 lanes for sprints. 1/8" spikes allowed


No food allowed in the track


Teams can organize on the

balcony located on the west end of the HC Field House.

The entry fee is 150.00/gender/school.

This covers our expenses of the facility, the FAT timing and the Head Starter. Awards

will not be given.

The doors to Henry Crown Fieldhouse open at 6:00, not

before. Please have your teams dropped off at 5:55.

Coaches meeting at

6:20 at the start line for a 6:30 meet start.

All meets are FAT timed with

Bob Geiger at Illinois Prep Top Timing. Results are posted at the meet and

We do not merge heats to fill

empty lanes once they have been entered, frequent scratches are a problem in

administering the meet. Please keep all scratches to a bare minimum to allow

the meet to be completed in a timely manner.

The order of events is as follows:

Long Jump start 6:45 Cafeteria style Co-Ed - please note that only

jumps more than 12' for the girls and 15' for the boys will be measured.

Our clerk will make calls for

events, be sure the athletes check in to receive their hip #. Athletes will

receive event specific hip #'s. be sure the runners take their number off after

the race and place in the garbage container.

The finish line area is

restricted access, coaches and athletes need to be clear from the finish line

to allow the meet to run smoothly.

Coaches will be assigned to

work as needed in the Long and Triple Jump events. U-High will supply measuring

tapes, clipboards and the rosters of participants

Coaches are expected to

properly supervise their students in this facility at all times. Athletes are

to be in the track area at all times. Restrooms are located on the main floor.

Coaches need to keep their

athletes off the fitness center equipment in the lobby of the Henry Crown


Coaches please note that

students are not allowed to run the hallways or the stairwells of the henry

Crown Fieldhouse

Payment is expected by February 14 2020 for all meets,

teams without payment will be prohibited from entering the meets.
