Meet Information
11th Annual Wheaton Academy Warrior Classic
Saturday, October 1, 2016
9:00am
Kress Creek Farms, West Chicago, IL
Welcome to the 11th Annual Wheaton Academy Warrior Classic! In a little under 2
weeks, your team will be competing in this meet. We are looking forward to your
participation in this meet.
Last year we increased the number of athletes who can complete in the varsity races to
10 and we are going to keep with that. (although only 7 will be counted for scoring)
Second, after the interesting weather we had at this meet two years ago and the horrible
weather we had at the IHSA Sectional last year, we are keeping to having the varsity
races first to ensure that we can get them in. Also, due to the size of the open race last
year, we made the decision at the coaches meeting to stagger the start of the boys and
girls where the boys start 5 minutes before the girls. We have built that into the
schedule this year assuming we will have similar numbers.
The top 20 will be recognized in both the varsity races, as well as the open races. Open
racers will receive their ribbons in the finish chute. Weather permitting, the varsity
runners will receive their neck ribbons at the awards ceremony at the end of the meet. If
the weather becomes an issue, all awards will be given out in the chute. The top 2 teams
for both of the varsity races will also receive team plaques. The open race does not have
a team score.
If you have any questions, please dont hesitate to contact me.
