19. Alice Abbott (So., St. Charles East) [NR]-
There are lessons to be learned from year to the next. As a freshman, Abbott went out way too fast trying to keep pace with Katelynne Hart. She admitted the "slow death" over the final two miles was one of the worst feelings as a runner that she felt. This time she started strong and got into a great position, but throttled back and maintained space between Hart and the chase pack. Abbott ran on an island the entire three miles. She should be in good company this weekend at the Richard Spring Invitational on 9/15.
