1. Thomas Shilgalis (Sr., Naperville Central)
Shilgalis had the best track season out of any returner this past spring when set one state best (800m- 1:51.81) and earned All-American honors in the Mile at New Balance Outdoor Nationals. Shilgalis was in the midst of a great cross country season last year until runner's knee limited his effectiveness during the state series. Not only do I think that Shilgalis can be a state champion, but I could also see him as an All-American in one of the two or both post-season national meets. Thomas will be trying to break the "Detweiller At Dark Curse" as he won the race by accident. Read more about the incident later on in this article.
