Aurora University junior Drew Schmitt (Batavia, Ill./Batavia  H.S.) has been named Northern Athletics Conference Men's Cross Country Student-Athlete of the Week for the second straight time.
 
Schmitt had a ninth-place finish out of more than180 runners at the AU Spartan Classic on Saturday. He was the top conference finisher at his team's host meet with a time of 26:17.1 in the 8K event. Schmitt received NAC honors the previous week after winning the Waubonsee Chief Invitational.
 
The next action for Schmitt and the men's cross country team comes on Saturday, September 17, when they travel to the Concordia University Wisconsin Falcon Classic. Meet time is set for 11 a.m. in Mequon, Wis.
