Complete USTFCCCA Top 25 Rankings

May 11, 2011 -
The North Central College women's track & field team is 21st in the most recent National Team Computer Rankings, released Wednesday by the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association.

The computer rankings are new for the 2011 season. Mathematical formulae based on current national descending-order lists in all events are used to compile a team's ranking. The purpose of the rankings is to create an index that showcases the teams that have the best potential of achieving the top spots at the NCAA Division III National Championships.

The Cardinals, winners of last weekend's College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin Outdoor Championships, totaled 44.42 points in this week's installment of the outdoor rankings and are one of two CCIW institutions to appear in the rankings. Defending outdoor national champion Illinois Wesleyan University is 20th with 46.00 points.

The 2011 indoor national champion, the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh remains in the No.1 spot this week with 236.90 points. Wartburg College (Iowa) is second with 185.64, followed by Williams College (Mass.) with 147.37, Massachusetts Institute of Technology with 133.55, and Claremont McKenna-Harvey Mudd-Scripps Colleges (Calif.) with 102.36.

The Cardinals host the first of two straight home meets, the Gregory Invitational, at Benedetti-Wehrli Stadium on Thursday and Friday.
