
Several Illinois high school track and field athletes posted personal records during the week of April 27.

MaKenna Hill (Lawrenceville) ran 12.40 in the 100 meters at the Senior Night Home Meet on April 29, improving from her previous best of 13.81. The sophomore's time ranks #94 in Illinois and #11 among state sophomores, and sets a school record for Lawrenceville. Hill finished second of seven competitors.
Chris Hollis (Bloom Township) clocked 15.56 in the 110 hurdles at the Bloom Lonnell Poole Invitational on April 28, dropping from his previous mark of 16.65 set in April. The junior ranks #110 in the state and #19 among state juniors after winning the event over four other competitors. Hollis also set a personal record in the triple jump, improving from 43-0 to 43-0.5.
Nathan Hawkins (Mascoutah) ran 50.94 in the 400 meters at the Knight Invite on May 1, cutting nearly three seconds from his previous best of 53.65 set in April. The junior's time places him #131 in Illinois and #38 among state juniors after finishing third in a field of 47 runners.
Mya Hill (Elmwood) ran 5:00.93 in the 1600 meters at the Morton Distance Gala on May 2, improving from her previous mark of 5:24.57 set in April. The sophomore's time ranks #27 in Illinois and #5 among state sophomores, and establishes a school record for Elmwood. Hill placed second among 69 competitors.
Georgia Burne (New Trier) clocked 15.06 in the 100 hurdles at the 28th Annual Trevian Invite on May 2, improving from her previous best of 16.24. Her time ranks #27 in Illinois and sets a school record for New Trier after winning the event over 19 other hurdlers. Burne also ran a personal record of 44.85 in the 300 hurdles, improving from 46.48.
Tyler Scroggins (West Aurora) ran 10.97 in the 100 meters at the Red Ribbon Classic on May 2, cutting from his previous mark of 11.41. His time ranks #106 in Illinois after finishing fourth in a field of 40 sprinters.
Hunter Smith (Okawville) jumped 21-10.75 in the long jump at the Charles Steptoe Invitational on May 1, extending his previous best of 20-2.5. The sophomore's mark ranks #85 in Illinois and #9 among state sophomores, and sets a school record for Okawville. Smith won the event over six other competitors.
