The Aurora University Spartan men's and women's indoor track and field teams combined to set seven new school records at the 2011 Chicagoland Indoor Championships which brings together schools from all three NCAA Divisions (I, II, III).
In the women's portion of the championships, which AU finished 13th out of 20 teams with eight points, junior
Brittany Paller led the way for AU, finishing seventh in the 800 meter run with a school record time of 2:28.09 and finished ninth in the mile run with a personal best time of 5:27.46. Senior
Cait Hartman finished ninth in the triple jump with a school record jump of 10.82 meters and the 4x200 meter relay team of sophomore
Ainsley Richards, senior
Carly Blask, Hartman and junior
Courtney Roberts finished fourth with a school record time of 1:53.40.
On the men's side, AU finished 13th of 17 teams with 12 points, freshman T.J. Jackson
finished eighth in the 200 meter dash with a school record time of 22.93 and he led the 4x200 meter relay team, along with junior Mike Woodard, freshman
Anthony McTizic and senior
Mike Langhurst finished third with a school record time of 1:34.05. Junior
Mark Sulkin finished 13th in the mile run with a school record time of 4:28.02 and sophomore
Drew Schmitt finished 19th in the 5,000 meter run with a school record time of 16:09.52.
