PEORIA, Ill. -- The Bradley track & field team returns to Champaign, Ill., and the U of I Armory for the second consecutive week, taking part in Saturday's Illinois Intercollegiate. The Illinois Intercollegiate starts at 9 a.m. with the field events and the Braves' first event is scheduled for 10 a.m. with a trio of BU runners slated to run in the 3,000 meters.
Senior Mary Goldkamp (Florissant, Mo./McCluer North) will compete in the mile and 4x400 relay after running her first 3,000 meter event at last week's Illini Classic. Goldkamp, who finished third in the mile at the season-opening Iowa Open, has the top mile time on the team at 5:09.29 and took second last week in the 3,000 meters at the Illini Classic.
Freshman Cassie Lohmeier (East Peoria, Ill./East Peoria) joins Goldkamp and is one of seven BU runners in the mile field. Lohmeier was limited to the 4x400 in the season opener and will be competing in her first distance event of the year.
Senior Lauren Fog (Harvard, Ill./Harvard) is coming off a 10th-place finish in the mile last week in her first competition of the indoor season and is one of three Bradley entrants in the 3,000 meters. Fog's mile time of 5:25.84 is second on the squad behind Goldkamp.
A trio of Braves will take part in the 800 meters and two BU student-athletes will compete in the high jump, while Bradley will have single competitors in the 60, 200 and 400 meters.
