PEORIA, Ill. -- The Bradley track & field team runs in an event hosted by a Big Ten school for the second consecutive week when the Braves head to Champaign, Ill., for Saturday's Illini Classic at the U of I Armory. The day's events are scheduled to start at 9 a.m. with Bradley's first event scheduled for 10 a.m.
Highlighting the day's competition will be senior Mary Goldkamp (Florissant, Mo./McCluer North) who will be running in the 3,000 meters for the first time in her career. Goldkamp will also take part in the 4x400 Saturday after helping the Braves to a fourth-place finish in the 4x400 at last week's season-opening Iowa Open.
Senior Lauren Fog (Harvard, Ill./Harvard) is one of eight Braves competing in the 800 meters and is one of seven BU runners entered in the mile. The 600-meter race features freshman Emily Wolbers (Moline, Ill./Moline), who finished sixth in the event last week at Iowa along with junior Michelle Hartman (Savanna, Ill./Prince of Peace).
Junior Tatierra Bivens (Chicago, Ill./Marist) and senior Jaclyn Gonzales (Fullerton, Calif./Union) are entered in both the 60 and 200 meters, while juniors Lyndsey Cleghorn (Oswego, Ill./Oswego) and Kourtnie Janson (Cambridge, Ill./Cambridge) will both take part in the high jump.
