Illinois Outdoor Breakthrough Performances: Week of March 30


Several Illinois high school track and field athletes posted personal records during competition from March 30-April 3.

Evynn Gregory (Winchester) ran 15.94 in the 100m hurdles at the girls' only meet on March 30, improving from her previous best of 18.37. The time ranks #102 in Illinois and earned second place among seven competitors. Gregory also set a personal record in the 300m hurdles with 52.94, down from 53.14.

TJ Cason (Belleville West) jumped 23-9 in the long jump at the O'Fallon Boys Relays on April 3, breaking his previous personal record of 21-2.25. The mark set a school record for the Maroons and ranks #14 in Illinois. Cason won the event among 22 competitors.

Nick Glisson (Illini Central) clocked 21.56 in the 200 meters at the IC Home Meet #1 on March 30, improving from his previous best of 23.31 set in May 2025. The senior's time established a school record and ranks #21 in Illinois and #3 among seniors statewide. Glisson won the race among eight competitors.

Leah Hubbard (Alton) ran 25.84 in the 200 meters at the Lady Maroon Track and Field Invitational on April 3, bettering her previous mark of 27.05 from March 2026. The freshman ranks #146 in Illinois and #4 among freshmen statewide, finishing 10th among 37 competitors. Hubbard also improved her long jump personal record from 15-8 to 16-4.75.

Khloe Allen (Granite City) ran 15.28 in the 100m hurdles at the Lady Maroon Track and Field Invitational on April 3, improving from 16.48 set in April 2024. The junior ranks #56 in Illinois and #10 among juniors statewide, placing sixth among 23 competitors.

Chase Ellis (Farmer City Blue Ridge) ran 11.00 in the 100 meters at the IC Home Meet #1 on March 30, improving from his previous best of 11.65. The sophomore ranks #138 in Illinois and #3 among sophomores statewide, winning among 12 competitors. Ellis also set a personal record in the long jump with 21-6.25, improving from 19-5.

Aavery Hill (LaSalle-Peru) threw 155-0 in the discus at the Geneseo Coed Tri on April 3, improving from his previous mark of 139-8.5. The sophomore ranks #87 in Illinois and #4 among sophomores statewide, winning among 30 competitors.

Hugo Ayala (Chicago Lane) won his outdoor season opener 3200m in 9:22.30 at the Lane Tech Co-Ed Cup. Ayala improved by over 20 seconds from his previous best of 9:45.91. In addition, his time sits as the top time in the state.
