CHICAGO – Chicago State University men's cross country recorded three personal-best times on Sept. 17 at the annual Illinois Intercollegiate Championships, hosted by Illinois State at Webring Golf Course in Normal, Ill.

Sophomore Matthew Jordan (Suffield, OH/Field) (Mogadore, Ohio) continued his successful season after posting a PR time of 26:10 once he completed the 8K course to finish 43 rd out of 348 runners. The time eclipsed his previous mark of 26:45.47 that was set on Sept. 11 at Northern Illinois.

Junior Michael Chew (Klang Selangor, Malaysia/Taylors University College) (Klang Selangor, Malaysia) crossed the finish line at a time of 30:07 to set a new PR time in the 8K this season, while senior Daniel Fleming (South Holland, IL/Thornwood HS) (South Holland, Ill.) recorded his best mark as a collegian with a PR time of 34:16, just shaving off over four-plus minutes.

“I'm pleased at the progress that the guys are continuously making and look forward to more PR times throughout the season,” said CSU head coach Wayne Holloway.

The Cougars are idle until Oct. 2 when they travel to Chicago's north side to compete in the annual Sean Earl Lakefront Invitational, hosted by Loyola University Chicago.
