The Spartan women captured the women's meet team championship with a score of 41 and were led by junior

In the men's race, AU came home with a second place finish with 58 points. Sophomore
Drew Schmitt led all runners (70 in total) with a time of 27:14 to take home medalist honors. Following Schmitt's lead were junior
Mark Sulkin (ninth - 28:03), freshman
Michael Giberson (13th - 28:26), senior
Keith Burke (14th - 28:43) and senior
Tomasz Mariak (21st - 29:39).
Next action for the men's and women's cross country teams comes on Friday, September 10, 2010 when they host the AU Spartan Classic at Oakhurst Forest Preserve. The women's 6k race begins at 5:00 p.m. with the men's 8k race at 5:45 p.m. in Aurora, Ill.
