NORMAL, Ill. - Bradley runners Mary Goldkamp and Katie Nowak both qualified for the 800 meter finals during preliminary action Saturday at the 2010 State Farm Missouri Valley Conference Championship at the Redbird Track Complex.
Both Bradley runners were approximately one second off their season-best times, positioning themselves well for Sunday's final in the 800 meters. Goldkamp is the No. 2 qualifier, finishing her prelim race with a time of 2:12.03, 17 seconds behind UNI junior Holli Hosch. Nowak was the No. 5 qualifier with a time of 2:12.77. Sophomore Michelle Hartman finished 16th overall with a time of 2:17.48.
Prior to running in Sunday's 800 meter finals, Goldkamp will begin her day by competing in the 1500 meters at 1:10 p.m. The 800 meter finals is slated for 2:20 Sunday at the Redbird Track Complex.
In other action on the track Saturday, sophomore Tatierra Bivens finished 19th in the 100 meter dash with a time of 13.82 seconds.
In Saturday's field action, a pair of Bradley student-athletes competed in the high jump. Junior Lyndsey Cleghorn tied for 10th, topping out at 1.56 meters, but sophomore Kourtnie Janson did not record a qualifying jump.
