Women Track & Field Places 17th at Chicagoland Championships

Tosin Idowu placed ninth in the 200-meter dash and helped the 4x400-meter relay squad to finish third at the Chicagoland Championships

CHICAGO – Chicago State women's track & field traveled to the University of Chicago on April 9 to compete in the 2010 Chicagoland Championships at Ted Haydon Track. The Cougars finished 17th in the team standings that featured UIC, Loyola (Ill.) and Northwestern.

 

The 4x100-meter relay tandem of freshmen Tosin Idowu (McDonough, Ga.) and Amber White (Locust Grove, GA/Ola) (Locust Grove, Ga.), sophomore Neshia Robertson (South Holland, IL/Thornwood) (South Holland, Ill.) and Junior Keshuna Franklin (Chicago, IL/Prosser Career Academy) (Chicago, Ill.) recorded their second consecutive top-five finish after placing third with a time of 50.33. Idowu also finished ninth after posting a time of 27.17 in the 200-meter dash.

 

CSU heads to Iowa City, Iowa this Saturday to compete in the Iowa Hawkeye Invitational.
