CHICAGO – Chicago State women's track & field continued its outdoor season on a good note as it captured six top-10 finishes April 3 at the Eastern Illinois Big Blue Classic, held at EIU's O'Brien Field in Charleston, Ill.
Freshman Tosin Idowu (McDonough, Ga.) recorded a personal-best time of 26.70 in the 200-meter dash en route to an eighth-place finish. Junior Keshuna Franklin (Chicago, IL/Prosser Career Academy) (Chicago, Ill.) and sophomore Neshia Robertson (South Holland, IL/Thornwood) (South Holland, Ill.) also recorded top-10 showings for the Cougars with Franklin finishing sixth in the 100-meter dash and Robertson placing eighth in the 400-meter dash.
Robertson, Franklin and Idowu later teamed with freshman Amber White (Locust Grove, GA/Ola) (Locust Grove, Ga.) to capture second place in the 4x100-meter relay. Robertson also collaborated with fellow sophomores Lanesha Sutton (Lansing, IL/Thornwood) (Lansing, Ill.) and Markesia Taylor (Chicago, IL/Sullivan) (Chicago, Ill.) to finish second in the 4x8000-meter relay.
Chicago State is back on the track this Friday as it will compete in the annual Chicagoland Championships at the University of Chicago.
