NEW ORLEANS, La. - The Bradley women's cross country team received all-academic team honors from the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) Friday after completing the 2009 season with a cumulative team grade point average of 3.52. A record total of 176 Division I women's programs received USTFCCCA All-Academic Team honors, including 9-of-10 Missouri Valley Conference schools.
Alabama led all teams with a 3.86 GPA, while Villanova was named the 2009 NCAA Division I USTFCCCA Women's Cross Country Scholar Team of the Year. For a team to be considered for the USTFCCCA All-Academic Team award, they must have competed and compiled a team score at an NCAA Regional Championship and also have a minimum 3.00 team cumulative GPA.
In additional to their USTFCCCA award, the women's cross country team also placed a department-best 16 student-athletes on the Athletic Director's Honor Roll for the 2009 fall semester.
