Cougars Score Personal Bests at Meyo Invitational

Freshman Tosin Idowu posted personal-best times in the 60-meter and 200-meter dashes at the Notre Dame Meyo Invitational

CHICAGO – Chicago State women's track & field team continued its preparation for the Great West Conference Indoor Meet later this month by posting some personal best marks in several events at the annual Meyo Invitational, hosted by Notre Dame, on Feb. 5-6.

Freshman sprinter Tosin Idowu (McDonough, Ga.) recorded a couple of personal records in the 60-meter dash at a time of 8.30 and the 200-meter dash with a time 27.43 for the Cougars.

Sophomore Neshia Robertson (South Holland, IL/Thornwood) (South Holland, Ill.) produced a PR in the 800-meter run after crossing the finish line with a time of 2:34.71, while junior Keshuna Franklin (Chicago, IL/Prosser Career Academy) (Chicago, Ill.) also posted personal-best times in the 60m (8.62) and the 200m (29.05) races.

“I am proud of the personal records that Tosin has set for herself. As our team continues to strive to perform better at every meet, we look forward to maximizing our talents,” said CSU head coach Diana Muhammad. “The Meyo Invitational was extremely competitive and we will meet up with some of the same competitors at the Great West Indoor Championships.”

The Cougars head to Ames, Iowa, this weekend for the annual Iowa State Classic at ISU's Lied Recreation Center. The meet starts Friday afternoon at 1:30 p.m. and 9:30 a.m. on Saturday morning.
