-Two teams have had a great start to the early part of their season. Kankakee, led by Jayon Morrow and Jyaire Hill, has dominated the sprints and sprint relays.
Burlington Central's approach has been in the field with pole vaulters Grayson Burton and Ishan Dhanani to go along with cross country all-stater Yusuf Baig who is highly rated in the 1600 and 3200m runs.
East Louis is back on the scene, with them you can expect top relays and a few individuals which is what we have seen thus far. Demarlynn Taylor and Samuel McCain are not household names but they currently lead the classification in the 60H and Shot Put respectively. All-Star Kenneth Buchanon is back along with the addition of Malachi Wren to the roster.
Mahomet-Seymour will attack with their distance until led by Joseph Scheele in the 800 and 1600m. Look for more pieces to emerge to help the Bulldogs case.
St. Rita returns a veteran squad with state meet experience dating back to 2019, their mode of attack so far has been in the sprint and relay events.
Mt. zion has two classification leaders in Christian Keyhea (60m) and Kyle Hensley (PV), they are not to be slept on.
