The biggest early-season winner when it comes to performances is Rockford Christian. Now we know nothing is won in March, but the show the Royal Lions have put on is impressive. Strong relays are supplemented by classification leading performances by Jonathan Thomas (400m) and Adam Santana, with distance contributions from Adam Santana and Ethan Walsh. It's super early, but Rockford Christian looks good so far.
Depaul College Prep hoisted the trophy for cross country, they look to carry their distance prowess onto the oval. Mac Kittrell, Charlie Richardson, and Ethan Castette look strong early.
North Mac appears to love their field events, led by Damon Sharpe (TJ & HJ) and Cooper Starks (SP) this looks to surprise.
Chicago Hope Academy took home relay gold last season, so far the sprint relays are good again. Sophomore Ryan Williams individually will look to take a bigger step individually to aid the Eagles.
Cowden-Herrick right now is a one-person show, Jadon Robertson is a good person to have as he currently leads the classification in the 60H, long jump, and high jump. As always be on the lookout for these rankings to shift often in 1A, as the season progresses.
