The narrative: The picture appears to be a bit clearer as we approach the big show. The numbers coming out of the sectional show that we have a new team atop the rankings, Latin. The Romans will rely HEAVILY on the distance events. If they can pull off their double and triple event attempts in the projected 85-degree weather in the city of Charleston, we will have a team champion Friday night. The legs of their All-Americans Ava Parekh and Marianne Mihas will be the determining factor.

Previously top-rated Geneseo did not advance their state leading 4x1 to the big dance and that could really hurt. The Lady Leafs still has the firepower in place with three relays. The ultimate prize of the Spring Spectacular may come down to the 4x4 and that is an ace card for Geneseo. Ali Rapps and Annie Wirth happen to compete in events where the warm temps can be their friend, don't rule them out.

Rosary's relays must come up big again in addition to their powerhouse athlete Annie Molenhouse. The true sleeper who can help the cause for the Royals is All-State distance runner Lianna Surtz. She has had some injury issues, but she is back now and may run faster than her seed time in the 3200, or will they opt to put her on the 4x800. Also, she's better than her seed time in the 1600m.

Normal U-High behind ace Anna Barr and Burlington Central with the re-emerging Brooke Barkocy are flying under the radar, if things go south with the teams ahead of them look for one of these two teams to be there to earn a trophy for their school's trophy case. The same can be said for Sara Addai and Morgan Pilate of Mt. Zion. We will see you all on Friday, good luck!
