Lincoln-Way East still holds down the top spot with Grayslake Central not too far behind. The Knights attack is fueled by Mariam Azeez who has been a tear of late in the sprint game. She is rated #2 in the 100 and 200. The 4x1 relay has jumped into the mix of late... Grayslake falls one notch but don't blame thrower Julia Reglewski who is still the top dog in the throws. Teammate Bella Domier has scored well from the 400 to 3200 this season.
With this being conference week, an opportunity to see how the top two teams and others perform in a championship setting. Whitney Young passed their first championship test, the Lady Dolphins produced two state-leading performances (4x1- 46.96; Sydney Robinson 100m) this past week before taking a break to gear up for sectionals. They appear to be healthy for the first time this season, perfect timing.
Normal Community's place depends heavily on the legs of superstar freshman Ali Ince, while Naperville North and its distance crew remain strong. As mentioned, conference season is upon us so expect more monster performances as we creep closer to the state series.
