Girls-
The individual battle won't be as unpredictable as the boys field, but this field will still look to showcase one of the states premier runners as Lianna Surtz of Rosary enters the race with only one loss to her name this season. She might be attempting to best her course record of 18:32 she set earlier this year. In the right conditions, we may see her go in the 18:15 range or we could just see her in a tune-up race before a much-anticipated battle with Mabry Bruhn and possibly Anna Perry at the ShaZam Championships the following week. The real race though will be for second place behind one of the states premier gals as Trixie Johnson of Paxton-Buckley-Loda, Anna Enderle of Chicago Christian, Carly Manchester of IC Catholic, and Julia Wolke of Christian Liberty Academy will all be duking it out.
The team battle, we actually got a nice taste of last week with IC Catholic easily putting away foe Rosary by a score of 28 points to 40. The Royals will need to get their #4 and #5 runners closer to their #3 runner than last week if they wish to pull out a win. Maia Italia will also have to attempt to break up that top 3 pack of the Knights. Also keep your eyes out for Elgin Harvest Christian Academy, Wheaton Academy, and Aurora Central Catholic as they will be duking it out for 3rd.
