Aaron Hou has bid his time well. The standout Jones College Prep senior cut his teeth in the frosh ranks before moving up last year. He earned a trip to the state meet which was invaluable for his success this season.
Now as the team's ace, Hou is undefeated this season after a hard-fought victory at the Latin City Meet in 15:49.6 for 5000m. In that one, Hou came from behind in a methodical fashion, moving up each kilometer/mile- pulling even with Ryan Hardiman of Chicago Latin in the final stages of the race. Hardiman had fought hard again to try and pull away, but Hou with one last gasp lunged at the finish line for the win.
This particular AOW voting was the most ever cast for cross country at 1,649. Hou took home 545 votes (33%) for his efforts.
