The third and final preliminary heat featured the sectional leader Downers Grove South who trailed the field big time for three legs. Then sophomore standout Erin Reidy didn't appear worried as she stood on the sideline doing a series of 1-2 step dance steps.
Finally, it was on Reidy's carry that she reeled in Glenbard East's big lead. Reidy brought home her mates with a 2:13.6 split and the Mustangs won the heat and advanced to Saturday's final with a time of 9:17.60.
