Girls-

Teams: Lisle (Benet Academy), Bolingbrook, Burlington Central, Mundelein (Carmel), Downers Grove North, Downers Grove South, Oak Park (Fenwick), Geneva, Lombard (Glenbard East), Glen Ellyn (Glenbard South), Fox Lake (Grant), Hinsdale Central, Hoffman Estates, Maple Park (Kaneland), Lakes Community, Lane Tech, Lincoln-Way East, Loyola Academy, Lyons Township, Minooka, Neuqua Valley, Niles North, Plainfield East, Plainfield North, Prospect, Sandburg, Shepard, St. Ignatius, West Aurora, Wheaton North, Whitney Young, Yorkville

4x800 (9:20.49/Downers Grove South 2019): Every year this is the coming-out party for the state's most successful event. And it is a matter of sections (three of them) before the state leader Glenbard West's 9:43.72 is replaced. Last year Downers Grove South came in as the favorite and departed as the all-time recorder holder. Guess what? The host Mustangs return three starters and will again be the favorite. On paper, they will be in the mix with the ace Erin Reidy (Sr.) who has run 2:12.43. Also, Brenna Cohoon (Sr.), Sophia McNerney (So.), and Rebecca Diddia (Sr.) have 2:25 marks under their belts so far. Hinsdale Central will be loading up for the first time this season. The Red Devilettes is a program that's rich in middle-distance running as they have won two state titles in recent years. Seniors Emma Watcke and McKenna Revord will lead the charge. Lakes, Downers Grove North, Lincoln-Way East, Lyons Township, Yorkville, and Minooka will factor in the top five.

4x200 (1:41.03/Lincoln-Way East 2016): This event is usually billed as an afterthought because it comes after the energy-charged 4x800. Things could be a bit different with IL#3 1:45.68 toting Whitney Young in the field. The Dolphins will be the team to chase behind the fast sophomore twins Rachel Robinson and Sydney Robinson. They will be hard to stop but if Lyons Twp runs, they will be the only other top ten on the charts. Lincoln-Way East has a few weapons in Mariam Azeez (So.) and Sophia Barnard (So.). Plainfield North could be within an earshot of third place if they can improve on their 1:48.96 season-best.

4x400 (3:54.77/Lincoln-Way East 2016)There are six sections in this final stanza of a meet. Although there is no clear-cut favorite, we could see some fast marks. Lincoln-Way East has yet to their squad, and if so Azeez will lead the charge. Whitney Young and Lyons Twp. have the fastest times entering the show at 4:07.83 and 4:08.84. Niles North has an opportunity to slide in with precise racing.
